T.O.T.A.L.
(Totally Outstanding Teen Advocates for the Library)
This group of high school students advocates for the library among their peers and the community at large; plan and implement programs for teens; assist in recruiting teen volunteers; and represent the library at community events, meetings and institutions.
In two and one half years time, T.O.T.A.L.'s system-wide program attendance numbers have increased 63%. Young Adult card registration has also increased by 31% and circulation of Young Adult materials has increased 36%. T.O.T.A.L. writes an online newsletter every month promoting library programs, collections, and services and emails it to over 300 teens.
Funding partners include Bank of America and the Predators Foundation.
Memorial Foundation
Gallatin Road Corridor Revitalization
Through the generosity of the Memorial Foundation, the Nashville Public Library Foundation has facilitated the revitalization of teen areas and programming at the East, Inglewood and Madison branches of the Library.
Academic assistance, computer additions, space enhancements and support staff are part of the provisions of the Memorial Foundation grant to the Nashville Public Library Foundation.
