Testifying to the strength and diversity of Tennessee’s grassroots cultural life, Traditions showcases everyday people who have dedicated their time and talents to mastering an art form or practice. The subjects represent different parts of Tennessee, different ethnicities, and different cultural specialties—from music and crafts to cooking and marble-playing.
The Zen of Seeing: Selections from the Albert Hadley Interior Design Collection
Albert Hadley, a native of Nashville, has donated his working and personal books to the library. The Albert Hadley Interior Design Collection includes a wealth of information on interior decorating, architecture, fashion and the history of Nashville as well as an exciting collection of sketches and scrapbook pieces that illuminate his design process.

About Nashville Public Library Foundation
Established in 1997 to raise private funds for the enhancement of collections, programs, and facilities, the Nashville Public Library Foundation has increased the library’s accessibility and visibility locally, nationally, and internationally. The Foundation is key to the unique partnership between government support and generous citizens—a partnership that is essential to the success of the Nashville Public Library.
